Feb 2019 - Feb 2020 | UNODA

UNODA is a member of the UN-Action inter-agency working group on conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) and prepared a presentation on Disarmament, arms control and CRSV. UNODA Regional Office in the Asia and Pacific (UNRCPD) participates in the UN Nepal inter-agency working group on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA). UNODA is a member of the Global Counter terrorism Compact Working Group on Gender Sensitive Approach to Preventing and Countering Terrorism, which addresses sexual and gender-based violence.

Feb 2019 - Feb 2020 | UNHCR

UNHCR continues its commitments to proactively contribute to numerous inter-agency coordination fora and initiatives, such as the Call to Action on Protection from Gender Based Violence in Emergencies and the Gender-based Violence Area of Responsibility (GBVAoR). Likewise, UNHCR is engaged in the UN Action against Sexual Violence in Conflict and the GBV Accountability Framework, to promote system-wide accountability to SGBV.

The year 2020 is a pivotal year for advancing gender equality worldwide, as the global community takes stock of progress made for women’s rights since the adoption of the Beijing Platform for Action. This information note explores UN Women's upcoming actions throughout 2020 including its multigenerational campaign: “Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights for an Equal Future”, Generation Equality Forums and Action Coalitions.

Feb 2019 - Feb 2020 | ILO

In collaboration with UN Women, the ILO published the Handbook “Addressing violence and harassment against women in the world of work” on March 2019. This manual, launched on the occasion of the annual session of the UN Committee on the Status of Women, provides a glimpse into emerging good practices to address violence and harassment against women in the world of work, by governments, employers and workers and their organizations, and civil society.

Feb 2019 - Feb 2020 | DPPA

In 2019, DPPA continued to engage as an active member of UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict (UN Action), which aims to improve coordination and accountability, amplify programming and advocacy, and support national efforts to prevent and address conflict-related sexual violence. DPPA also actively contributed to the UN Standing Committee on WPS, the Inter-Agency Network on Women and Gender Equality (IANGWE), as well as the Global Compact Working Group on Gender-Sensitive Approaches to Preventing and Countering Terrorism. 

Mar 2018 - Jan 2019 | UNRWA

UNRWA is actively participating in the inter-agency coordination mechanisms at the country and regional levels. Specifically during the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, UNRWA coordinated its activities with the United Nations country teams and the regional gender team to contribute and support the “Hear Me Too” campaign.

Mar 2018 - Jan 2019 | UNODC

UNODC is coordinating the Inter-Agency Coordination Group on Trafficking in Persons (ICAT), established by the General Assembly. The first high-level ICAT meeting was organized in May 2018 in London. Briefings took place in Vienna in June and during the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime in October 2018 as well as in New York on the past, present and future of ICAT. 

Mar 2018 - Jan 2019 | UN Trust Fund

The United Nations Trust Fund in support of actions to eliminate violence against women is a global, multilateral grant-making mechanism that supports efforts to prevent and end violence against women and girls. The Trust Fund, which was established in 1996 by the General Assembly in its resolution 50/166, is administered by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women) on behalf of the United Nations system.
