UNODC provided support to Namibia in optimizing the national hotline system for victims of gender-based violence Lifeline/Childline with the most updated technology to expand the data collection process, which will inform programming and case management. The United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons supported the activities and services that enhanced the psychological recovery and social reintegration of female victims of trafficking and empowered survivors to reclaim their rights to justice and fair compensation, as part of the global effort to address violence against women victims. This included psychosocial support through provision of shelter, counselling, education, medical and psychosocial assistance; legal advice and assistance; and vocational and independent livelihood skills training, advocacy and awareness-raising. The Fund directly supports around 3,000 survivors every year through its NGO partners. It has provided USD 3.4 million in grants to 59 NGO projects in over 40 countries. More than 75% of the estimated total amount of beneficiaries were women and girl victims.
